Labor finalises university policy

Federal Labor's higher education policy is expected to be released shortly, the caucus has been told.

Shadow minister for higher education Kim Carr and his assistant shadow Amanda Rishworth have been developing the policy.

The government has faced problems getting its university deregulation bill through parliament, with Labor, the Greens and crossbenchers objecting to fee hikes and cuts to public funding.
