Labor is demanding urgent investigations amid fears identity thieves are stealing information from federal government systems.
Opposition human services spokesman Doug Cameron will ask the national audit office for an urgent audit of the effectiveness of government security systems, following revelations of 369 cases of potential Medicare identity theft.
The senator also wants federal police to conduct a nationwide investigation of all government departments to identify any potential fraud, he told reporters in Canberra on Friday.
