Former ACT chief minister Katy Gallagher has been endorsed by Labor for a soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat.
Earlier this month Ms Gallagher announced she was resigning as chief minister to contest Labor preselection for a Senate spot after Kate Lundy's decision to leave the parliament.
ACT Labor closed nominations for Senator Lundy's replacement at the end of Thursday.

Ms Gallagher soon after announced her win on social media.
"Thank you to members of @Canberra_Labor who have given me the honour of representing the #CBR community in the Senate," she tweeted.
Senator Lundy sent her well wishes, tweeting: "Well deserved & congrats!"
