Big wave surfer and former Bra Boy gang member Koby Abberton has blamed a "bad back" for his no show today in a Sydney court on three criminal charges.
Mr Abberton's lawyer tendered a doctor certificate to Waverley Court which stated her client, who now lives in Bali , was unfit to travel after undergoing recent back surgery.
The 42-year-old was arrested in October last year after an alleged run-in with police in Bronte Road at Waverley.
Mr Abberton was charged with hindering police , behaving in offensive manner and drive a motor vehicle without carrying his licence.
The surfer, who was due to face a hearing today, had the matter adjourned until next month when a new hearing date will be set.
Mr Abberton has pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
