Kids left in car while parents play pokies

Two seven-year-old boys were allegedly left unattended for up to three hours in a car in Sydney's west while their parents played poker machines.

Police discovered the boys unsupervised inside the parked car on Canley Vale Road, Canley Vale, on Friday afternoon.

The officers located the parents of the children, a 48-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, inside a nearby licensed premise and charged them with leaving a child in a motor vehicle.

They will allege that the boys were left unsupervised for up to three hours.

The pair, who are both from Cabramatta, are due to appear in Liverpool Local Court on July 23.
