Three men charged over two NSW kidnappings

Three men have been charged after two people were kidnapped in NSW last year, including one who was attacked with a machete.

Last April, a 23-year-old woman was speaking to a man she knew on Cummings Street, West Bathurst, at 10pm when it’s alleged he and a group of men forced her into a vehicle.

The woman was allegedly threatened as she was driven around the area. She escaped uninjured.

Then, in November 2018, a 27-year-old man got out of a Toyota Camry in the driveway of a home on Taylors Road, Silverdale, at 10.20pm, when he was allegedly approached and assaulted by five men.

They allegedly forced him into a vehicle and assaulted him with a machete before he was dropped nearby, on the side of Bents Basin Road, Wallacia.

He was found with a cut leg an hour later by police and needed surgery.

Three men, one aged 21 and two aged 22, have previously been charged over their alleged roles in the two incidents, and remain before the courts.

Detectives had now arrested and charged a 21-year-old man in Silverwater over the West Bathurst alleged kidnapping and another man, also 21, in Assisi Close, Cranebrook over both alleged kidnappings.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested at a home on John Street, St Marys, yesterday.

Police later found a stun device at the house.

He has also been charged over both alleged incidents.

All three were refused bail after appearing in Penrith Local Court today.
