Cancer survivor finally snaps up Katy Perry tickets after more shows added

South Australian Katy Perry fans have been given a triple treat, with the superstar adding two more shows just days after a highly anticipated concert was first announced. 

The initial rush to secure tickets saw many fans miss out - including Debbie Cooper and her mother Raylene, for whom one of the pop star's hits has a special meaning. 

Raylene found strength and inspiration during her ovarian cancer treatment through Perry's anthem Roar.

Debbie was determined to fulfil her mother's wish of seeing the star live but missed out in the frenzy of ticket sales for the first show. 

With the extra two concerts added to the schedule, the mother and daughter still faced an uphill task when the second all but sold out within minutes. 

But they were in luck and finally snapped up tickets for the third show. 

"Yeah, it got me going. I'm going to roar like a lion!" a jubilant Raylene said. 

The decision to add the Adelaide shows was largely attributed to the intervention of Premier Peter Malinauskas, who personally reached out to Perry to express the state's desire to host her. 

Perry's Adelaide concerts - scheduled for June 26, 27 and 29 next year - are expected to draw full houses at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
