Kate Upton's lawyer responds to nude photo leak

Kate Upton has confirmed naked photographs of her leaked on the internet are the genuine article.

The Sports Illustrated model’s lawyer made the announcement today and vowed to track down the culprit behind what is being called the biggest celebrity hacking scandal in history.

"This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton's privacy," the lawyer told E! News.

"We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."

It remains unclear how many of the nude and risqué pictures widely circulated on social media on Sunday are real.

A woman resembling Upton was reportedly pictured covering her bare chest and posing with boyfriend and baseball player Justin Verlander.

The model was one of more than 100 names reportedly targeted by the mass hacking made possible by Apple's iCloud.

It has also been confirmed that Jennifer Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Winstead had private photos stolen and distributed without their permission.

Both women publically slammed the violation of privacy, with Lawrence threatening legal action against anyone who publishes the images.
