Kalgoorlie house fire linked to teen’s motorcycle death

A Kalgoorlie house deliberately set alight and destroyed by fire was being rented by a man charged with manslaughter over the recent death of 14-year-old boy Elijah Doughty.
The house on Watts Close in South Kalgoorlie went up in flames last night, with the house and its contents completely destroyed.
Firefighters estimated the blaze caused about $250,000 damage.
Elijah died last month when he was allegedly hit by the driver of a ute while riding a stolen motorbike.
His death sparked race-fuelled riots after the 55-year-old alleged driver was not charged with murder but instead received a lesser manslaughter charge.
