AFL star Jordan De Goey set to have assault charges downgraded in US
AFL star Jordan De Goey is set to have his charges over an alleged incident at a New York nightclub downgraded in a US court.
De Goey and his friend Luke Dyson were arrested following the alleged incident at the PHD rooftop bar in New York in October.
The Collingwood star originally faced four charges, including assault with intent to cause injury.

However, those charges are now being downgraded to second-degree harassment.
His lawyers are seeking a suitable corrective program for De Goey to attend in Australia.
De Goey remains under supervised release.
He is due to next appear in a New York court, via video, on January 28.

De Goey had previously been stood down with pay by Collingwood after the original charges were laid.
The club said it would continue to monitor "meaningful developments" in the case.
De Goey travelled to the US during the off-season of the AFL to partake in an intensive fitness program in California, receiving a permit to leave Australia.
