Hollywood superstar John Travolta has jetted into Adelaide, sending fans into a tail spin.

The star arrived early this morning, stepping off a private jet and greeting a small group of excited fans.

"This is the first place I came to when I first hooked up with Olivia Newton-John after Grease," the 65-year-old said.

The star of Pulp Fiction, Hairspray and Saturday Night Fever then made the journey to a hotel in the city's CBD, where more fans were waiting to greet him.

Travolta is visiting Adelaide for the Supa Nova pop culture expo which starts tonight and continues over the weekend.

For those wanting to meet Travolta and walk away with a keepsake, they will need to be ready to drop some cash.

The event's website said a Travolta autograph will cost $200, while a photo will set you back $240.

Adelaide is the first stop on his Australian tour, which also includes Sydney and Melbourne.
