Jetstar flight diverted to Brisbane after ‘suffering engine failure’

A Jetstar flight has been forced to make an emergency landing in Brisbane after reportedly suffering engine problems.
The Christchurch-bound flight landed safely after leaving Gold Coast airport in Coolangatta earlier today.

Flight radar images show JQ189 circling in airspace after take-off around 8.25am (AEST) before being diverted north and landing.
No passengers or crew are believed to have been injured.
The airline confirmed the flight had been diverted.
“The captain requested a priority landing and the aircraft landed without incident,” Jetstar said in a statement.
The carrier said it was investigating the incident.
