Jet skier arrested after collision leaves another in hospital

A man has been arrested after crashing his jet ski into another in Melbourne this afternoon.

Police were called to the waters near Mills Street and Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park, after two jet skis collided about 3.30pm.

One of the riders, a 32-year-old Thomastown man, tested positive to a preliminary breath test, police said.

He has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The remaining rider, a 32-year-old Coburg man, was not injured. He has been arrested over marine-related offences.

Both men are known to each other, and investigations are ongoing.
