Man dead after falling from jet ski near South Stradbroke Island

A man has died while riding a jet ski off South Stradbroke Island this morning.
Police say the 54-year-old man from Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast was riding the ski on the ocean side of the island at 8am when he suddenly fell into the water.
He was helped to shore but could not be revived.

It’s not clear why he fell from but no other ski or boat was involved.
