'The greatest gift of all': Jeff Horn and wife welcome baby daughter

Champion boxer Jeff Horn and wife Joanna have announced the birth of their first child.

Isabella Kate Horn was born yesterday at 7.40pm weighing 3.58kg, the Horns said in a statement to 9NEWS today.

"Both mum and Isabelle are doing well. Winning the world title was a tremendous achievement, but Isabelle’s arrival is the greatest gift of all," the couple said.

"It has officially confirmed 2017 as the best year of our lives."

The Horns wished the public a happy New Year, and requested privacy for "the time being".

Horn, a former physical education teacher, took out the WBO welterweight title in April after defeating Manny Pacquiao in a blockbuster bout in Brisbane.

The 29-year-old retained his title with a win against England’s Gary Corcoran at the Brisbane Convention Centre on December 13.
