Private memorial held for alleged murder victim Jasmeen Kaur

A private memorial service has been held at the Adelaide aged care home where alleged murder victim Jasmeen Kaur worked.

Friends and staff paid tribute to the 21-year-old with candles lit in her memory on the same day her work ID and shoes were discovered in the Flinders Ranges, 65 kilometres south of where her body was buried.

A member of the public found Jasmeen's belongings, including items police allege were used to restrain her, stuffed in a bin at Kanyaka between Quorn and Hawker on Sunday.

The search continues for her handbag, which police believe will provide more clues into the circumstances of her killing.

The 21-year-old's body was found buried in a shallow grave in the Flinders Ranges on Monday, more than 400 kilometres from where she was last seen leaving work.

She had been reported missing by her family after she failed to turn up at work the day before. Police believe Ms Kaur finished her shift at Southern Cross Homes in North Plympton just before 10pm on March 5.

"We believe it to be extremely unlikely that Jasmeen left willingly with anybody and are investigating that possibility that she was taken by force," Detective Superintendent Des Bray said.

They've appealed for information from anyone who saw a 20-year-old, described as having "a neatly trimmed beard and moustache, and neatly dressed" in the area. 

Officers allege he drove Ms Kaur away from her work in a 2009 blue metallic Commodore with the number plates S267CJ, which he had borrowed from a friend.

"We're asking anybody who might have seen either that vehicle, or a similar person loitering in the car park, apparently waiting for someone or in contact with Jasmeen (to come forward)," Detective Superintendent Bray said.

"It's also possible that people may have seen that person in the weeks leading up to her death attempting to make observations at those premises."

A 20-year-old Kurralta Park man, who cannot be named and denies being involved in her death, was charged with Ms Kaur's murder after he led detectives to her grave at Moralana Creek, about 40 kilometres north of Hawker, on Sunday morning.

Police on Friday gave a detailed timeline of the car's alleged movements, tracked by traffic cameras, and appealed for anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

The man charged with her murder fronted Port Augusta Magistrates Court via videolink on Tuesday and denied killing Ms Kaur.

He was initially charged with failing to report a death to the coroner, but the charge was upgraded to murder after major crime detectives arrived at the scene of her burial.

The court has suppressed the accused's identity while the investigation is ongoing.

He will remain behind bars until his next appearance in December.
