Jackknifed truck causes heavy traffic delays in north Sydney

Motorists in Sydney’s north faced significant traffic delays after a truck jackknifed and blocked multiple lanes on the Pacific Highway today. 

All northbound lanes on the highway near Livingstone Avenue in Pymble were closed due to the incident and traffic was forced to be diverted via Ryde Road or Mona Vale Road, NSW Traffic advised about 10.30am today. 

“Southbound lanes remain open however traffic is very heavy through the area, so motorists should allow additional travel time,” a NSW Transport Management Centre statement said.

“Emergency services and traffic crews are on scene.

“Motorists are also advised to exercise caution or use an alternative route.”

Public transport has also been affected, with buses delayed by up to 50 minutes and Route 575 services diverting away from the Pacific Highway via surrounding local streets.

The truck has since been towed from the scene by authorities and northbound lanes have reopened.
