Ipsos poll shows Labor in front 51-49

A new Ipsos poll shows Labor leading the coalition 51-49 a month out from election day.

That makes three, with Newspoll and Essential polls from earlier this week both showing Labor leading the coalition by 51-49 per cent.

The Ipsos poll, published in Fairfax newspapers, says primary support for Labor has risen two points to 36 per cent in a fortnight while coalition support sits on 42 per cent.

More reassuring for the coalition, its support in Queensland remains strong on 48 per cent, against 35 for Labor.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull remains preferred PM by 49 per cent to 31 for Bill Shorten. Fifty-five per cent of the 1359 poll respondents expect the coalition to retain government.
