Police investigate whether explosives were taken from Pullenvale bomb house

Police are investigating a rural area north of Brisbane which may be linked to a home where a cache of explosives have been cleared.

The Pullenvale property remains a crime scene as detectives from Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Federal Police work to crack the case.

But now a focus of this investigation now is whether any bombs or chemicals were taken off the Pullenvale property.

The house had been rented by Daniel Fing, a convicted bomber, who is now in custody on unrelated matters.

He is the main suspect, who had rented the property under a fake name.

At the Fing family home in Newcastle there are heavy gates, security cameras and warning signs.

Daniel Fing's relatives were there today, but they didn't want to talk.

Both the Premier and Lord Mayor have been briefed on the incident, three months out from G20 summit.

“I'm just very appreciative to all concerns for discovering this activity going on which could have led to a serious crime,” Premier Campbell Newman said.
