An inquiry has been launched into draft laws making it easier for dual-citizen Australians convicted of terrorism offences to be stripped of their citizenship.

The parliament's intelligence and security committee has set down a public hearing for January 30 with written submissions due by January 11.

Anyone convicted of a relevant terror offence after December 12, 2005, could lose their Australian citizenship under the draft laws introduced to parliament on November 28.
