Man charged with murder over stabbing death in Innisfail

A man will front a Far North Queensland court today accused of going to another man's house and stabbing him to death.

Police found the alleged attacker, 30, in a street near the dead man's Innisfail home shortly after the stabbing about 6pm yesterday.

The victim, 32, was stabbed in the chest after the pair got into a verbal argument at the Edith Street property.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Police say the pair knew each other.

The younger man has been charged with one count of murder and is expected to face the Innisfail Magistrates Court today.
