Inmate escapes through ceiling of NSW jail

A prisoner is on the run after escaping through the ceiling of a minimum security jail in the NSW Northern Tablelands.
Richard Norrie, 33, was reported missing after failing to show up to this morning's muster at the Glen Innes Correctional Centre, police said.

"I think he climbed up through a ceiling," a Corrective Services spokeswoman said.
Norrie is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 171cm tall with a medium build and has black hair.
