An injured teenager who spent the night at a national park on the NSW Central Coast has been airlifted to hospital.

The 15-year-old girl spent a terrifying few hours in horrific conditions with paramedics after hitting her head on a walking track during a school camping trip to Brisbane Water National Park on Sunday afternoon.

It was feared the girl had suffered spinal injuries.
