Indians now 20% of migrants to Australia

Tens of thousands of Indians are choosing to call Australia home.

New government figures show that nearly one in five of the 207,900 migrants who settled permanently in Australia in 2013/14 came from India.

There were 290,000 student visas granted in the same year, which the government says shows the international education market remains strong and appealing.
