Punjabi superstar heading to Sydney in October

Record-breaking Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has announced that he will be heading to Sydney this October in what is set to be a sell-out show.

The record-breaking artist will make history as the first-ever Indian artist to headline a Sydney stadium concert as he performs at CommBank Stadium on October 26 as part of his AURA tour.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Martin Zaiter said it was a significant new major event for Parramatta.

"This is a real win for our community and we're proud to partner with Venues NSW to make this happen, showcasing Parramatta's 24-hour economy and growing our billion-dollar economy," he said.

In 2023, Dosanjh became the first-ever Indian born artist to perform at Coachella with songs such as "Proper Patola" and "G.O.A.T" which have garnered over 200 million streams each.

NSW Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said the concert was the perfect way to celebrate Diwali.

"The concert will be a wonderful addition to the Diwali celebrations and Australia hosting India in the cricket at the SCG." he said.

The CommBank Stadium performance is one of Dosanjh's six shows he's set to perform in Australia later this year.
