Teenager driver killed, three passengers injured when Land Cruiser rolled off highway

A car with four young people inside has rolled on a notorious stretch of road in Western Australia, killing one.

Just after 5am today, the Toyota Land Cruiser was travelling south on Indian Ocean Drive between Green Head and Leeman, around two hours north of Perth

It left the highway and rolled multiple times, strewing debris all over the road. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, died at the scene.

Two more young men, aged 16 and 20, and an 18-year-old girl were all injured and taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

They are all in a stable condition.

The stretch of road where the crash happened is infamous for the high number of deadly accidents.

The trend has been improving since a series of upgrades began along Indian Ocean Drive.
