Convicted killer Daniel Jack Kelsall is due back in court next month to confirm whether he will fight child porn charges.

Kelsall stalked and indecently assaulted 31-year-old Morgan Huxley before stabbing him to death in his north Sydney flat on September 8, 2013.

But the NSW Supreme Court jury that last month found him guilty of murder did not know the 22-year-old was also accused of possessing child pornography.

Central Local Court today heard that police found the material while conducting a search as part of the investigations into Mr Huxley's death.

The court heard Kelsall has entered a plea of not guilty to the pornography charges, but lawyer George Breton said it was possible the accused would change that plea at his next appearance.

Kelsall, who was not in court, is due to appear on May 1 - the day after he faces a Supreme Court sentencing hearing for murder.
