Husic slams govt over Srebrenica silence

Labor MP Ed Husic is demanding answers from the federal government over its silence on the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.

Mr Husic, the son of Bosnian Muslim migrants, says he's disappointed Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop have both failed to pay even modest respect to those who suffered following the 1995 massacre which saw more than 8000 deaths.

"Let them be judged by their actions or inaction," he told parliament on Thursday.
