Husband who killed wife yet to reveal where he dumped her body

The family of a killed Queensland mother-of-two are still holding out hope that her husband will reveal where he dumped her body.

Julie Hutchinson likely died sometime over the weekend of March 7 and 8, 2015.

Her husband, Michael Hutchinson, was sentenced to 15-and-a-half years in jail for the manslaughter of his wife at the Townsville Supreme Court on Friday.

But the lies and deceit of the unemployed security guard started eight months before he killed his wife when he fraudulently applied for a second mortgage on the family home in an attempt to no longer be a stay-at-home father to the couple's two children.

Hutchinson even got a friend to pretend to be his wife when signing for the $80,000 high-interest loan.

It was meant for Hutchinson to start a business with. But the money was all gone within a short period of time and the family were drowning in debt.

Police believe Hutchinson killed Julie when she found out about the massive debt he had saddled them with in an attempt to hide his shame and possibly collect her life insurance.

They allege he killed her inside their home before dragging her body into the boot of her car and leaving her there to decompose before finally disposing of her remains in bushland outside Townsville.

Hutchinson's father, Geoff, told the court his son told him that on the day Julie died, she arrived home with three strangers who threatened his son, a fight broke out and Julie hit her head.

Geoff Hutchinson claims his son told him he disposed of Julie's body in bushland but can't remember where.

Julie's brother, Larry Beraldo, has completely rubbished Hutchinson's claims that he cannot remember where the body was buried.

"I can't see how someone would forget such an instance or such a traumatic thing they've had to do. I'm not sure what words to use. But you wouldn't forget something like that," Mr Beraldo told A Current Affair.

"I think definitely it was all about money and I believe Julie has obviously found out something from then, I don't know what happened. We'll never know."

Julie's sister, Christine Teitzel, reported her missing on April 9.

She and their father became suspicious of Hutchinson's original excuse that Julie had left him and the family after realising she was a lesbian.

"To us and to those who knew Julie, she was a caring, loving, loyal, quiet, intelligent woman and was respected by all who knew her," Ms Teitzel said.

"The suffering and torment we are all experiencing by not knowing where Julie was discarded can only be described as torturous."

"After last week's decision to find Michael Geoffrey Hutchinson not guilty of murder but guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter, we were devastated."
