'Missing 100 minutes' in Karen Ristevski disappearance

The husband of murdered woman Karen Ristevski has been unable to explain his whereabouts for 100 minutes on the day she disappeared, according to the Herald Sun.

Ms Ristevski, 47, was reported missing on June 30, 2016, the day after husband Borce says he last saw her leaving their Avondale Heights home.

Detectives have been trying to account for Borce Ristevski's movements on June 29.

Mr Ristevski told police his wife left their Avondale Heights home of her own accord after the two got into a fight. He then said he took his wife's Mercedes-Benz SLK coupe out for a drive on the Calder Freeway on June 29, the day she vanished, did a U-turn and returned home.

Police believe the Mercedes-Benz was driven through Diggers Rest to Gisborne, then past Mount Macedon Golf Club towards Macedon Regional Park.

Despite this, according to the Herald Sun, Mr Ristevski has not been able to say where he was for a period of just under an hour and 40 minutes on that day.

Mr Ristevski was seen leaving the family home this morning. He drove straight out of the driveway turning his face away from the cameras and would not stop for questions.

Detectives also spoke to the couple's daughter Sarah at the time of her mother's  disappearance. She reportedly is the last one to see her mother alive before the fight.

Karen Ristevski's body was found in bushland in Mt Macedon on February 20 this year.

Police say her husband is a suspect.

Borce Ristevski has always maintained his innocence.
