Humpback whale dies after being stranded on NSW beach
A humpback whale has died despite desperate attempts to save it after it became stranded on a NSW beach.
The whale was discovered at Seven Mile Beach, Lennox Head.
Teams from National Parks and Wildlife Service, Sea World and ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia) were involved in trying to save the mammal.

NPWS had asked members of the public to keep away for their safety.
It was hoped a high tide about 5pm would give crews a chance to refloat the whale.
However, the animal was unable to be saved.
