Cigarette lighter clue after human remains found on remote Queensland walking track
Police have launched an investigation after human remains were found on a remote Queensland bush track.
Two four-wheel-drive enthusiasts found the badly decomposed body around midday yesterday during a trip to the Glass House Mountains in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The two men phoned police, who were unable to reach the scene until 8pm due to the difficult terrain.

Police said very little is known about the body so far, and it is unclear whether the person was a man or a woman due to its deterioration.
Police have been unable to link the skeletal remains to any missing person report or existing investigation and are treating the death as suspicious.

"There is a cigarette lighter nearby," Craig Mansfield from Queensland Police said.
"It looks like there is some charred areas but we're just trying to ascertain whether it's just decomp black or it's actually charred."
Police said it's likely the person was small in stature, possibly a teenager, and it's unclear how long the body has been at the site.
"They (the remains) will be sent for further scientific and forensic analysis including establishing gender," police said.
An incident centre has been established at Maroochydore Police Station with the Homicide Squad, police, scientists and forensic investigators working to identify the body.
