Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan apologises for racist tirade

Hulk Hogan has apologised after a transcript of previously unforseen appeared online exposing a racial rant, leading to the WWE severing all ties with him.

The transcript is believed to be an unseen portion of a sex-tape made by Hogan and a friend’s then-wife, released by Gawker.

Hogan is suing Gawker for the release, seeking $100 million in damages.

The post has since been taken down.

The transcript reveals Hogan speaking about his daughter’s then-boyfriend.

“If she was going to f--- some n-----, I’d have her marry an eight-foot-tall n----- worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!” he said.

“I guess we’re all a little racist, f---ing n-----.”

The professional wrestler has now come out with an official apology, release to People, for his racist rant.

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation,” he said.

“It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologise for having done it,” it read.

He goes on to explain he is no longer the same person from that footage.

“This is not who I am,” he wrote.

“I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise.”

The WWE pre-emptively cut all ties with Hogan when news that something negative about the wrestlers was going to be released.

Hogan retains the departure was a move on his part.
