The secret to a perfect Santa photograph

A Sydney photographer has shared her tips for capturing the perfect Santa photograph, as families flock to get the quintessential Christmas happy snap.

Familiarity is important when it comes to making children smile in the portraits, Arianne Sultana told the TODAY Show.

“Show them last year’s photo… get them used to it,” she advised.

Parents can also work on fostering a positive connection with Santa Claus early.

“Let them know he’s not a scary guy…keep the magic spirit alive,” Ms Sultana said.

If tears arrive at picture time, it’s best to take a break.

“It’s good not to push your child, have some lunch, treat them. Bring them back when they’re a bit calmer,” Ms Sultana said.

“Bribery is also a good idea,” she added with a laugh.
