How much are you really saving at the supermarket?
Supermarkets like to claim prices are going down. But are you really getting a good bargain?
A 9NEWS investigation tracked the prices of 23 everyday products, including bread, milk, cheese and chocolate from both Coles and Woolworth in the Sydney suburbs of Parramatta and Blacktown.
At Woolies, apples will set you back $2.98 a kilogram – a slight increase, but still cheaper than Coles, where a kilogram of apples would cost $4 – down from $6.

But, both Coles and Woolworths have recorded increased prices for key items over the past six months.
