Second shooting linked to car, house fires in Sydney's west and south-west

Police believe a second shooting in Sydney's west last night is connected to an earlier shooting and a car and house fire.

A house and a white Toyota station wagon were set on fire and shot at on Wendy Close in Cabramatta about 12.45am.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze, but not before the house and car both sustained significant damage.

Police were also told multiple gunshots were heard before a dark sedan fled the scene.

"I heard the gunshots, just scared the hell out of me," a witness said.

"I saw a black car, someone got out with black tracksuit pants and started the fire, and then they got back in the car and took off again."

They found bullet casings at the location after at least five shots were fired at the home.

A 57-year-old woman and her three sons - all in their 20s - were inside the home.

The woman was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

The three sons were unharmed.

About 20 minutes later, a second shooting occurred in a suburb in Sydney's west.

Police say several bullets were fired at a home in Green Valley at around 1am before a car was set alight.
