All eyes will be on the Supermaxis tomorrow during the prestigious Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, however the smallest boat could cause a major upset as she vies for the overall honours.

The small boat, named Maluka, has the potential to beat the other sleek and mighty competitors on handicap.

Originally built 80 years ago, Maluka is the smallest and oldest boat in this year's race and is less than a third of the size of her more glamorous counterparts.

She has been lovingly restored by Sean Langman, who is marking his 25th Sydney to Hobart.

"It's really more of a mind game sailing a small boat it's about getting on together," he said.

"There are six men sailing together so it's reasonably cramped so it's about enjoying each other’s company and enjoying your time at sea."

Crew on board are hoping to better her 2006 finish where she came a solid 10th on handicap.
