A loving home is being sought for a three-legged dog in Perth who had to have her hind limb amputated after she was allegedly severely bashed by her owner.

Bobbi, a young Staffordshire terrier cross, was taken in by the RSPCA in March after calls from concerned members of the public.

After she was rescued, she was taken to the nearest veterinary hospital for emergency treatment, but her injuries were so serious she had to have her right hind leg removed.

After more than three months of specialist care and training at the RSPCA, Bobbi is ready for a new home.

The RSPCA is seeking new owners who will walk her for 45 minutes twice a day and commit to taking her to the animal welfare organisation's dog training classes.

A family where someone is home part-time and where there are no cats is preferred.

"Her recovery has been incredible given what she has been through," chief inspector Amanda Swift said.
