Very last Holden ever made in Australia to be auctioned off
Australia's last ever locally manufactured car is up for sale, representing the ultimate nostalgia piece for collectors never to be replaced or replicated again.
This 2017 Holden VF Series II SSV Redline in red was the last body to be framed and assembled in Holden's body shop at its Elizabeth plant in South Australia.
Hosted by Lloyds auctioneers – the very same group facilitating the sale of what will become Australia's most expensive road-going car – the VF Redline is currently fetching $90,500 with four days to go.

The car's authenticity as the very last to be produced in Australia is extensive.
From photos with paint shop workers to the car's VIN number matching Holden's internal tag numbers, the car is as exactly as it left the factory – complete with stickers, plastic seat protectors, and plastic steering wheel protector.
Lloyd's notes this car is different to the one that was used for Holden publicity, which had a blacked out roof.
"This car differs to the one that Holden have advertised as the last one on the Assembly line which was prepared in advance of its assembly date," the auctioneers note.

The current owner worked at Holden for more than 14 years, finishing up with the automaker in a technical support role in the paint shop.
He had tracked the car down to an allocated dealer, who was unaware they were to come in possession of the very last vehicle ever made in the country.
The odometer only reads 100 kilometres and the vehicle is in the same condition as it rolled off the production line at Holden on the 18th October 2017.
"Not everyone can boast to have the last of anything but this car is like owning the holy grail of car manufacturing in Australia," Lloyds Auctioneers said of the car.
"There will never be another last Holden made in Australia ever again."

Much of the car's value is sentimental, as it represented the livelihoods of thousands of Australians who had dedicated their lives to producing the finest homegrown car possible.
"The pictures of workers next to this car holding the sign 'LAST HOLDEN manufactured in Australia October 2017' is also a tribute to the importance of this car," Lloyds said.

"The amount of interest this car body received by all the employees at Holden was second to none.
"This is because, as employees, they knew the significance this car had to them, Holden and Automotive manufacturing in Australia."
