Hockey in talks over East West billions

Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey will discuss with his Victorian counterpart the $3 billion in Commonwealth funding for the now scrapped East West Link.

He and Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas will meet on Monday to discuss the East West Link and a number of other matters, Mr Hockey told reporters.

The talks are likely to focus on alternative uses for the money after the federal government conceded the tollway - which is opposed by Victoria's Labor government - is unlikely to be built.
