Hockey confirms drug co-payment stands

Treasurer Joe Hockey says the government will pursue an increase in the patient co-payment for prescription drugs, despite it not appearing in Tuesday's budget.
The government's plan to increase the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme co-payment by $5 for general patients and 80 cents for concession card holders is stalled in the Senate.
The government was still negotiating its pharmaceutical agreement with the Pharmacy Guild and other stakeholders, Mr Hockey told the National Press Club in Canberra on Wednesday, a day after delivering his second budget.
