Hockey buoyant before budget

Treasurer Joe Hockey is in a buoyant mood 12 hours out from delivering the Abbott government's second budget.

Assistant Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Mr Hockey enjoyed an early coffee at Parliament House on Tuesday as they prepared for a round of morning media appearances.

Asked to describe the treasurer's mood amid talk Mr Hockey's political future depends on voter approval of the budget, Mr Frydenberg told ABC radio his boss was buoyant.
