The 10 highest-paying industries in Australia
Wage growth slowed a little in the six months to May this year, but the average Australian fulltime worker was still earning $1923 a week, new ABS data has revealed.
Breaking the numbers down a little further, here are the industries where workers can expect to take home Australia's biggest pay packets.
Though even as the ABS noted the gender pay gap closing to a "record" 11.5 per cent for full-time workers, these numbers show there's still a long way to go.

10. Construction
Average weekly fulltime age: $1821.80
Men: $1840
Women: $1701.30
9. Transport, postal, and warehousing
Average weekly fulltime age: $1893.20
Men: $1930
Women: $1753.60
Already in this list, men's average wages in this industry are above the national average.
Women's wages won't cross that line for a couple more entries.
8. Healthcare and social assistance
Average weekly fulltime age: $1902.40
Men: $2226.80
Women: $1765.10
7. Education and training
Average weekly fulltime age: $2026.40
Men: $2127.10
