Extreme temperatures forecast for southern parts of Australia
Millions of Australians have been told to prepare for extreme weather with much of the country under heatwave warnings today.
Adelaide is set to expereince the worst of the heat, with the city expected to see temperatures peak at 38 degrees.
Meanwhile, both Melbourne and Perth are forecast to reach 35 degrees.

Forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology indicate the heatwave will continue for parts of Western Australia including Perth for much of this week.
A severe heatwave warning remains in place for Kimberley, Gascoyne, Central West and Great Southern Districts.
"Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell," the Bureau warned.
"Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
"Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home."

Melbourne is set for another day of warm weather tomorrow with a top of 36 degrees.
Overnight temperatures are also expected to stay above 20 degrees.
However, it appears a reprieve from the extreme weather will come on Wednesday.
