HAZMAT crews and firefighters have been called to Clyde, in Sydney’s west, after about 30 tonnes of building materials were discovered dumped by the side of the road.

Firefighters were called about 1pm after the discovery and have joined officers from Parramatta Council, who have used tarps to cover the materials due to asbestos fears.

It is believed they were alerted via a Triple Zero call from a member of the public.
