Harriet Wran working with Bondi Vet

Recovering ice-addict and daughter of former NSW Premier Neville Wran has been volunteering at Bondi Vet Dr Chris Brown’s clinic following her release from prison.

Harriet Wran was released from Silverwater jail in September after spending two years behind bars for her role in a drug-fuelled robbery that resulted in dealer Daniel McNulty being stabbed to death.

The 29-year-old admitted drug addiction had taken a hold of her life before she was jailed but she has refocused her attention on her love of animals in recent months.

Wran has been volunteering at the TV vet's clinic in Sydney's Eastern suburbs once a week since February and said being exposed to animals again had given her great comfort, the Daily Telegraph reported.

"She has been volunteering at the clinic in Bondi since February and loves it. It helps centre her, animals make her feel calm and relaxed and give her confidence," a source told the Sydney paper.

"She's not doing it as part of her therapy, she just loves animals, they're her passion. The experience gives her solace."

Wran has stayed away from drugs and alcohol since her release, instead dedicating her spare time to working out at a local gym.

The former Sydney Church of England Grammar School student initially expressed interest in undertaking a business degree or helping other drug addicted youths at a Ted Noffs Foundation thrift store upon her release.
