Hanson, Xenophon shake up Senate

Pauline Hanson and Nick Xenophon will play a key role in the new Senate after outstanding results in yesterday's federal election.

Senator Xenophon was on track last night to pick up three South Australian seats in the upper house, while Ms Hanson will take a Queensland Senate seat and could bring her running-mate Malcolm Roberts with her.

Jacqui Lambie will hold her Tasmanian seat and could bring another candidate with her, while broadcaster Derryn Hinch won a Victorian Senate seat.
