CCTV shows mass brawl breaking out before hammer attack

CCTV has emerged of a large brawl breaking out just moments before a man was hit in the head with a hammer in Sydney's CBD this morning.

Police were called to Dixon Street, in Chinatown, following reports of a group fighting at 12.40am.

In the vision the large group of men and women can be seen arguing shortly before a fight breaks out.

A man was struck in the head during the brawl.

Police arrived on the scene and found a man suffering a head wound.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
