Gunslinger strolls into Darwin cop shop

A bloke who waltzed into a Darwin cop shot brandishing two bolt-action rifles has triggered a stern warning from police.
NT police say the man had no malicious intent when he brought the weapons in for inspection and license renewal, but he was still slapped with a $655 fine for carrying the exposed firearms in a public place.
"If for any reason you need to take a firearm to a police station, please ensure they are suitably contained a gun case or another legally appropriate covering, or a blanket," Sergeant Leif Hovland said on Thursday.
