Growing concern for $8 billion ‘Green Square’ development between Sydney’s CBD and airport

More than 200 hectares of industrial space from Sydney’s CBD to the airport is being transformed into a new residential community.

Local residents from Green Square believe the area can’t cope with the growing expansion, which includes an underground library and a recycled water plant.

The development will run through Waterloo, Alexandria, Beaconsfield, Zetland and Rosebery, which is home to 21,170 people.
